It’s common to hear “I just don’t have time to cook”, “It’s too hard to cook healthy”, “It’s too expensive to eat well”, “I’m afraid” and “I don’t know how to plan a healthy meal.”  We may not  be consciously aware of how our belief system holds us back from reaching our goals.  Even if we consciously say “I want to be healthy (skinny, rich, etc),” we may have deeply ingrained underlying thoughts that sabotage and undermine us.   The unconscious struggle undermines our efforts to make changes and even drains our energy.

This course series is meant to compassionately examine our values and beliefs so we can then release old patterns and move forward on our health-related paths.  We will take a very practical approach by setting manageable and realistic goals and supporting each other as a group along the way.  We will use some guided visualizations to work through our blocks at the subconscious level in a way that nourishes the spirit.  “See Yourself Doing It, And You Will”!

Please note: This course will not involve Leslie teaching cooking, though it will incorporate menu planning! (Starting this fall, I will offer another Easy Whole Foods Cooking For Busy People series

Thursday June 24, 6:30 to 8 pm

Session 1  What are you really hungry for in life?

In this class, you will:

  • Set a clear vision for your desired relationship to food
  • Identify hidden beliefs about yourself and your relationship to food that are holding you back and using up your energy
  • Participate in guided visualizations and some centering and relaxation exercises

Thursday, July 1st, 6:30 to 8 pm

Session 2 Gently moving yourself through the blocks

In this class, you will:

  • Implement a plan for reaching your desired outcome
  • Set realistic and manageable goals
  • Learn menu planning and kitchen basics (what is a good starter shopping list, basic kitchen items, how often should you eat certain foods, how do you balance a whole food diet?)

Thursday July 15th, 6:30 to 8 pm

Session 3 Overcoming obstacles

This class will focus on:

  • Troubleshooting and overcoming obstacles
  • Learning strategies that support healthier habits
  • Learning how to make friends with hidden parts of ourselves so we can open to new possibilities
  • Participate in guided visualizations and some centering and relaxation exercises

Saturday, July 24th time 6:30 to 8:30

Session 4 Celebrate your success

In this class, we are going to just party and celebrate focusing all of our energy on the positive growth, because actively sending this vibration to the universe will create more of the same!  Students will be asked to prepare a dish for this celebration.  The focus is to come together and celebrate all of our success from the previous few weeks!

Ala carte classes will not be offered for this course.  Students are encouraged to take part in the entire course for more integration and to create better group harmony.

The 4-part series will be held at Baby aWEARness in the Manoa Marketplace, 2nd floor, above Subway.  Class size is limited.
