Food nourishes us on many different levels including:
- social – such as enjoying meals with friends and family, as well as celebrating our culture, traditions, and heritage
- spiritual – harmonizing with nature and her rhythms, as well as cultivating mindfulness and gratitude
- physical/biological – absorbing vitamins and minerals in food fuels, heals, and balances us
- mental/emotional – changes in moods and emotions can come from how we dine
Refined processed foods have become the way in which people tend to celebrate in the U.S. For example, hotdogs, chips, and other snack foods epitomize celebrations and fun. Mounds of sweets are pushed on us from February 14 on Valentine’s day, during Easter, and all the way until the end of the year with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!
But what if we changed the way we saw food in our celebrations? What if we started adding healthier options that were even fresher, better tasting, and which even left us feeling better, AND which are also easy to make?
I will teach how to make fresh, colorful, gourmet dishes in this class that will go over well at potlucks & picnics, on the dinner table, or in your lunch that you carry to work with you! (Guaranteed to turn heads.)
Life is meant to be celebrated, and food is part of that.
